The Community Of Largo

Largo is the third largest city in Pinellas County, Florida, and is part of the Tampa Bay Area. Centrally located, it is the crossroads of the county, covering 17.9 square miles. It is a community of more than 74,000 residents and contains more than 34,000 homes. Over the last 10 years, the City has developed such landmark projects as Largo Central Park, the Largo Cultural Center, and the new Largo Public Library. From the days of its pioneer roots to today, Largo remains a City of Progress.

Largo contains 17 public schools: Largo and Pinellas Park High Schools; Fitzgerald and Largo Middle Schools, Anona, Fuguitt, Largo Central, Mildred Helms, Oakhurst, Ridgecrest, Southern Oak, and Walsingham Elementary Schools; as well as Pre-K Early Intervention Program; Dropout Prevention School; Pinellas Marine Institute; Pinellas Preparatory Academy; and Home Builders-Project Craft.

Through its recreation facilities, cultural center, park system and sports complexes, the Recreation, Parks & Arts Department offers opportunities for individualized leisure pursuits, and passive enjoyment of the natural environment. The department has been nationally accredited and named as "Agency of Excellence" by the State of Florida.

The Pinellas Trail runs through Largo from 2nd Ave SW to south of Ulmerton Road.
